Frank Florian is the director of the Telus World of Science out of Edmonton. His research and study includes science interpreter, science demonstator, community astronomer, planetarium operator, and many other exciting events. He was also involved with the meateorite search in Saskatchewan which recovered material from the November 20th 2008 fireball. Frank will lead the way in exploring our universe and the wonders that are above.
2009 is the International Year of Astronomy. Come and explore the dark sky and learn about what makes up our galaxy. View the moon, Jupiter, Star Clusters and Galaxies with telescopes. Learn how to use a planisphere, learn about the Myths of Contellations, Meteorites and learn how the dark sky evolves.

Sep 18 to Sep 19 Ian MacLaren, professor at the University of Alberta teaches the Department of History and Classics and the Deprtment of English. Professor MacLaren's particular interests in environmental history and Jasper National Park grew out of the upper Athabasca River valley's role as part of the transcontinental fur trade route during the first half of the nineteenth century.
Ever wonder who were the first settlers to land in Jasper? How the natives made this land their home? How the fur traders came across to sell their goods? How Jasper became a rail roading town to now a world famous tourist destination? All this and more will be explained in such historic detail to aid you in learning more about the first inhabitants of Jasper National Park.
