Sep 02 to Sep 30 Jasper…A Walk in the Past Special walks: Weekends in May at 7:30pm Nightly, June through September, 7:30pm
Take a step back in time and discover the characters that helped shape Jasper National Park and the mountain town of Jasper. This 1.5 hour historical walking tour of town takes participants on a personal journey into the past through a variety of stories about the people, places and events that have made Jasper what it is today.
Program begins at the historic Information Centre nightly at 7:30 (June to September). To ensure your spot on the tour (group size is limited) pick up a FREE ticket at the Friends’ shop in the Information Centre. Donations appreciated.

Sep 10 to Sep 11 Human History – Featuring Ian McLarenA professor at University of Alberta, Ian teaches the department of History and Classic as well as the Dept. of English. Ever wonder who the first settlers were to Jasper? How the Natives made this land their home? How Jasper became a railroad town, to now, a world famous Tourist destination.

Sep 17 to Sep 19 September gives Jasper an opportunity to show off its cultural diversity with the annual celebration of Arts Days. Events start on the 17th with the Canadian Mosiac by Tim Van Horn.
“No other national symbol has a greater place in a person’s heart than their country’s flag. What better way to put a face to the most culturally diverse nation on the planet than a Canadian flag mosaic with 2010 faces? The Canadian Flag Mosaic is dedicated to all the world’s cultures and the family of Canadians. It is a celebration of life, humankind and earth’s cultural diversity. We encourage all of you to embrace and be proud of who you are no matter where in the world you live.”
The Mosaic will be on exhibit at the Jasper Activity Centre over the Arts Days weekend – Sept 17-19. A companion exhibit of photography will be on display at the Museum for the month of September, ‘The Faces of Jasper’ in the Alcove Gallery.

Sep 18 The Jasper Motorcyle Run is an annual organized ride through the beautiful Canadian Rockies and Jasper National Park.
The run, which is limited to 300 motorcyles, provides an opportunity to enjoy fantastic scenery, meet plenty of people, and win great prizes!
Interested riders can register online and all money raised goes to local Jasper charities.

10:00am Registration and Bike Round-Up
Registration is $50 per Motorcycle (includes one Poker Hand).
All entrants will meet in a designated area for registration and to collect their poker run passport. You may park your bikes in the registration area for everyone to enjoy.
12:00pm – 5:00pm Poker Run There will be 5 scenic stops in Jasper National Park where entrants will draw a card towards their 5 card poker hand. The cost is $50 per hand.
7:00pm Prizes A short ceremony of fabulous Prize giveaways for the best Poker Hands will be held. Location TBA.

Sep 19 Jasper Activity Centre A glimpse of Jasper’s culture with a day of events, food and entertainment. The Activity Centre will host a Bowls with Soul event where you can have a great bowl of soup – supporting the arts – and for $20 you get to keep the handbuilt ‘made in Jasper’ bowl! An arts fair for all ages, some street demonstrations and a Variety Talent Hour will fill your weekend.
Sep 19 The 2008 Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research will be taking place in Jasper on the 14th of September. This event will be taking place in Jasper, as well as all across Alberta, in various locations. The run is in support of cancer research.
Sep 24 to Sep 27 Artists in the Pines is a fall weekend of workshops designed to foster anyone's muse in the Canadian Rockies! Weekend pass includes accommodation, meals & workshops (some additional materials fees apply), jam/improv sessions. If you can't join us for the entire weekend you can take individual workshops.
Tessa Nunn - painting; Anna Carnell - stone mosaics; Beth Gignac - IMPROV; Ben Gadd - writing and Back Porch Swing - music/instruction and Julie McMath - pottery. Dec 10 This annual exhibition features the watercolours of Barb Brooks, one of Jasper's more prolific painters and whose works can be found in collections around the world. The exhibition supports two scholarships for emerging artists.
Dec 17 Jasper residents and visitors can get in the holiday spirit at this annual Christmas event. Features dinner and dancing, held at the Jasper Activity Centre.
TBA The Jasper-Yellowhead Museum and Archives is coordinating The Festival of Trees as a fundraiser for the museum and to help the Jasper Community Dinner Program.
The museum is offering free admission for the Festival of Trees. Come on down and see what great Christmas Trees the community of Jasper has created.

TBA Marmot Basin plays host to the Jasper Junior Olympics every March, when nearly 400 up-and-coming ski racers (aged 5-10) hit the mountain for two days of dual slalom and giant slalom racing.

Space is limited, as the event will be capped at 300 riders.
TBA The Banff Jasper Relay is a scenic 258km road race run in 15 stages on highways from Banff to Jasper. The relay is a fundraiser for the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. The relay will consist of 2 phases run simultaneously: • Phase 1 has 6 stages from Banff to Saskatchewan River Crossing. • Phase 2 has 9 stages from Saskatchewan River Crossing to Jasper. Team results are based on the cumulative times for both phases of the relay added together.
TBA Come the first of July, Jasper residents and visitors can join in the Canada Day celebrations in Jasper National Park. Events include a parade, pancake breakfast, cake, family-fun, fireworks and much more. Programs are available at Jasper Information Centres.
TBA This Annual Event attracts top cowboys/ cowgirls and stock from around the world. Events include bull riding, bareback and saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, calf roping, barrel racing and more! The Rodeo Dance, held on Saturday night, features great entertainment.
