Pine Bungalows Presents Human History Discovery Weekend Feat. Ian MacLaren
More Info
|
+ My Favorites
Sep 18 to Sep 19 Ian MacLaren, professor at the University of Alberta teaches the Department of History and Classics and the Deprtment of English. Professor MacLaren's particular interests in environmental history and Jasper National Park grew out of the upper Athabasca River valley's role as part of the transcontinental fur trade route during the first half of the nineteenth century.
Ever wonder who were the first settlers to land in Jasper? How the natives made this land their home? How the fur traders came across to sell their goods? How Jasper became a rail roading town to now a world famous tourist destination? All this and more will be explained in such historic detail to aid you in learning more about the first inhabitants of Jasper National Park.
